A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, June 10, 2016, at 1pm at Memorial Funeral Home.
Don was born May 17, 1941, in Randolph, Nebraska to Lyle and Lucille (VanKirk) Delozier. He grew up in the rural Randolph area where he farmed with his family, graduating from Randolph High School in 1958. Don continued to farm until 1960 when the family moved to Columbus, Nebraska. He was united in marriage to Nancy Gavlik on May 2, 1964, in Columbus. He worked various jobs in the Columbus area before relocating to Arlington, Texas in 1968 where he began employment with the Pennzoil Company. In 1973, he was transferred to Columbia, Missouri, where he lived and raised his family, retiring from Pennzoil in 1998.
Don was a generous man always thinking of others before himself. He especially enjoyed playing cards, spending time with family and friends, camping, traveling (preferring not to take the same road twice), motorcycling, attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and was an avid walker. He was lovingly referred to as the “can man” by his grandchildren, for his propensity to pick up and recycle cans. He was a prankster and loved a good joke.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three infant brothers.
Don is survived by wife, Nancy Delozier of Columbia, MO; three daughters, Tammy (Eric) Wetzel of Cottontown, TN, Cristal (Greg) Dunkin of Spickard, MO, and Lisa (Rob) Lammers of Hartsburg, MO; son Mark (Wendy) Delozier of Louisville, KY; brother Eugene Delozier, of Columbus, NE; six grandchildren, Erica and Alicia Wetzel, Logan and Makenzie Dunkin, Blake and Kylee Lammers; one uncle and several nieces and nephews.
