Donald L. Lake

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Don was born on May 22, 1940 in Eldon, MO the son of Wilmer and Dorothy (Worthley) Lake who preceded him in death. He moved to Columbia in 1966 and opened Don Lake Mobil Service Station. He owned and operated Don Lake Towing & Trucking and was known for his “blinged” out tow trucks. He also enjoyed mowing lawns, collecting John Deere tractors and spending time with his dog Roxy.

Survivors include: Vera Lake of Columbia, MO; two children, Stacey Lake (David Hoover) of Saint Louis, MO and Eric Lake (Kim Duncan) of Columbia, MO; two sisters, Anita Cox (David) and Juanita Branstetter (Dwayne) of Belton, MO; one brother, Harold Lake (June) of Mountain Grove, MO; two nephews, Tim Cox and Joel Branstetter ; three nieces, Suzanne Van Hecke, Cathy Yeatts and Elana Wagner and his right hand man, Melvin Pinkett.
