Dorothy "June" Hoff

Dorothy June Hoff, age 92, of Columbia, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at The Bluffs in Columbia, Missouri. Mrs. Hoff was born on April 30, 1934, the daughter of Alva and Myrtle Demaris King. Dorothy June was married to Elmer R. Hoff on June 26, 1955, who preceded her in death on August 2, 1988.

Mrs. Hoff attended Bevier Public Consolidated Schools and Quincy Beauty Academy in Quincy, IL. She worked in Illinois and Missouri as a hairdresser.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church, a past member of GFWC Tuesday Club, Boone 290 Order of the Eastern Star, the Step Program to provide social life and support for student doctors at University of Missouri Hospital and volunteered at the Columbia Activity Senior Center. Mrs. Hoff loved flowers and raised orchids and African violets. She gave away many of the orchids to friends, those who were ill, and to celebrate birthdays.

She is survived by her two sons, Robert Hoff and his wife, Rev. Ellen Hoff, of Hauser, ID, and Randal Hoff and his wife, Julie Hoff, of West Jordan, UT; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Hoff was preceded in death by her parents, Alva and Myrtle King; her husband, Elmer Hoff; a brother, Don R. King; and a sister, Doris Jones.

Memorial contributions in Dorothy’s honor may be made to the Columbia Senior Activity Center.

Words of comfort and support may be shared with the family at the visitation, which will be Thursday, October 1, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Memorial Funeral Home, Columbia, Missouri. Services honoring and celebrating Dorothy’s life will follow at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Kristin McAtee officiating. Private committal prayers and burial will be held at Oakland Cemetery in Moberly, Missouri.
