Elaine was a delightful person whom we will miss dearly. How her friendship has enriched our lives over the past three years when we rented the house across the street. Many fond memories are ours to cherish, especially the gleam in her eyes revealing her zest for living.
Elaine was a social person, a warm, caring, loving mother, grandmother (and great), friend, and neighbor. Rich in life experiences, blessed with a keen intellect and adaptive nature,
she was truly a remarkable lady. Her ability to live well independently, pursue her interests (esp. baking and writing), and enjoy each day as it came certainly belied her numerical years.
Love of family permeated her being and she worked diligently to preserve family history.
Her 95th birthday celebration brought her immense joy.
Adieu Elaine and Godspeed!

We met Elaine at a neighborhood gathering where she told us she loved Pink Floyd and if we ever heard loud music coming from her house she was watching Live at Pompeii (my husband's favorite concert video). We made sure to invite her to every Interstellar Overdrive show and helped her reserve tables at The Bluenote . I hope that I am still going to live music shows when I am in my 90's. Thank you Elaine for allowing us a glimpse into your rocking world.

While we did not know Elaine personally, we know that she was a devoted employee with the program where we now work. The Missouri Kidney Program was fortunate to have Elaine as an employee and advocate on behalf of Missourians with end stage renal disease. We continue this work in her honor and the honor of all the employees of this small but mighty program who have dedicated themselves to this work. We thank Elaine's family for their recognition of the program and what it meant to her.
Thank you and may you find peace and light.

We came to know Elaine under the most difficult circumstances, the loss of our friend, her daughter, Jennifer. We’ve been blessed by Elaine’s beautiful and fun loving spirit through shared Wiegel family events and old fashioned correspondence (letters!) ever since. The memory of Steve and the kids fishing at the pond with Elaine is among our much joy had by all! She’s left us all with loving memories to hold tight....a testament to a life well lived. Wishing peace and comfort to Elaine’s family and friends.
With love,
Marsha & Steve Langish

Elaine was a second mother to the Karl family and treated me and our extended family as her family. We shared many memories, we loved concerts, dancing, eating out, trying to spend her coins at the boat, flowers, eating fresh scones, reliving her memories in Germany and when the boys were young and craz(ier). We benefited from learning and laughing with her. I won’t share them all - but she was FUNNY and fun to be around. She will be missed. One of our concerts trips in the photo included.
