

Ella Lucille “Lucy” Coleman, 87, of McBaine, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2014. She was born March 31, 1927, in Centertown, Missouri to the late Martiles and Nellie (Tooms) Vaughan. On September 21, 1946, she married Carl S. Coleman in Kansas City, Missouri and he preceded her in death. Lucy was a member of Huntsdale Baptist Church; an auxiliary member of: VFW 280, Eagles 2730, and Elks 594. She volunteered at Columbia Area Senior Center, served on the board and was elected treasurer. She served as Clerk for the Village of McBaine, Missouri, and operated a restaurant, Lucy’s, there for many years. Lucy is survived by her children: Carl D. Coleman (wife, Brenda) of Columbia, Missouri, and Mary Elaine Robbins (husband, David) of Marshall, Missouri; brother: Roscoe Vaughan (wife, Mary) of Sikeston, Missouri; 13 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her loving husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two sons: Donald R. Coleman and James W. Coleman, three sisters and six brothers. There will be a visitation from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Monday, July 28, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home, with a memorial service to follow at 7:00 pm. In addition, there will be a Celebration of Life in McBaine, Missouri at a later date.
