He was born on July 2, 1948 in Quincy, IL to Raymond and Clara Wellman. He was united in marriage to Joyce Ann Kroeger on May 17, 1975.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce; children, Adam Wellman (wife April Patton) of Gibson City, IL and Crystal Wellman (husband Oscar Onyango) of Kansas City, MO; grandchildren, Laila Onyango and Austin Wellman; brothers, Kenneth, Ronald, and William; and sisters, Norma Jean and Rosalie ‘Sis’.
Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Edwin.
Eugene worked in the trucking and factory industries, including Knapheid and Trans Fleet Industries. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his beloved grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at Memorial Funeral Home, Columbia, MO from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with memorial service to follow at 11:00 a.m.
