Faye Valentine Richardson

Faye was born on July 20, 1932, in Columbia, Missouri, to Slater and Mable (Semon) Valentine. A lifelong resident of Columbia, she was deeply rooted in the community called home for more than nine decades. She attended Columbia public schools and proudly graduated from Hickman High School.

On April 21, 1952, Faye married the love of her life, Harold R. Richardson, in Columbia. Together they raised three children: Ellen, Cheri, and Tom.. Faye enjoyed working at Columbia Insurance Companies for many years after being bookkeeper for Richardson Electric Company.

In her younger years, Faye enjoyed friendly competition and good company bowling. As the years went on, she and Harold enjoyed playing bridge.. Faye was also an avid reader, always eager to begin a new book.

Faye is survived by her daughters, Ellen Bender (Donnie), and Cheri Richardson, both of Columbia, Missouri; two grandchildren, James Bender and Jordan Richardson, both of Columbia; some great-grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Harold; her son, Thomas Richardson; three sisters, Dottie Garner, Jean Sutton, and Maye Frazier; and one brother, Bob Valentine.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 22, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home. Services celebrating and honoring Faye’s life will follow at 4:00 p.m. in the Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Private committal prayers and burial will take place at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery.
