Forrest Early Tate, 87, of Columbia passed away at Boone Hospital, Sunday, July 7, 2019.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 11, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Rockbridge Church of God Holiness. Funeral services will take place Thursday, July 11, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Rockbridge Church of God Holiness with burial to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Forrest was born September 2, 1931 in Columbia the son of Forrest E Tate and Mary (Lauderbaugh) Tate. He graduated from the University of Missouri with a doctorate degree in education. He had a long and distinguished career in education and management consulting. He was proud of his association with the University and was a proud fan of Mizzou sports. He was an active and devoted member of his church, Rockbridge Church of God Holiness. He was a lifelong fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. He was a family man, devoted to his children and grandchildren.
Forrest is survived by his children: Jennifer Tate (Ray) Arguello of Orlando, FL and their children: Zach; Zoe; Souder (Elizabeth) Tate of Springfield, MO and their children: Landon; Maranda; Mary; Casey Tate (Dan) Jones of Fort Smith, AR and their children Chelsea; Madison; Drew; Baker; his sisters: Erlene Embrey; Virginia Walsh both of Columbia and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters: Helen Wren; Mary Hall and Eleanor Crews.
Memorial are suggestion to the Alzheimer’s Association in care of the funeral home.
