Frank Washburn, Sr., 72, of Columbia passed away Saturday May 3rd in Bowling Green, MO. A memorial visitation will be on Friday, May 16 from 4-5pm at Memorial Funeral Home 1217 Business Loop 70 West Columbia followed by a Memorial Service at 5pm.
Frank was born September 13, 1952, in Youngstown, OH to Willis and Thelma Washburn Woods. He moved to Columbia as a young man. He worked most of his life as a mechanic and tow truck operator for I-70 Towing and then Doug Perry Towing. Outside of work he enjoyed spending time with his family; taking his grandkids to their games and events and running them wherever they needed to go.
He is survived by his mother; Thelma Washburn, eight children; Karolyn Welker, Tracy Gelder, Tamra Soper, Frank George Washburn Jr., Willis Wayne Washburn, Chris Washbun, Melissa Reid, and Courtney McBride, twenty-six grandkids, twelve great-grandkids, three siblings; Mary Cross, Homer Glen Washburn, and Willis Washburn, and an ex-wife; Kathy Hamilton. He was preceded in death by his father, his sisters; Cindy Rhinehart, and Vicki Washburn, and a brother; Vincent Washburn.
