On Sunday, February 4, 2024, Frederick David Rankin, a beloved father, passed away. He was eighty-eight years old. Born May13, 1935 to Mary I. Ham and Henry David Rankin in Kansas City, Missouri he was the second eldest of five siblings.
Fred was an honored member of the U.S. Army who served during the Korean Conflict. After serving his country he became a self-employed business owner in California. He married Theresa Lavern Trujillo the love of his life. They remained married until 2003 when she preceded him in death. Theresa and Fred had four children and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Fred is survived by his children Theresa Elaine Rankin Fritzsche (David), Diana Linn Rankin Willms (Bruce), David Aldin Rankin, and Fred David Rankin, Jr. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, all four of his siblings, his daughter Sandra and granddaughter April. Fred was very proud of his fifty-nine years of sobriety. Fred enjoyed working on and restoring vehicles. Fred also loved spending time with his siblings, his children and grandchildren.
The funeral will be private for family members. Fred along with his wife’s ashes will be interred at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, in Dixon, Ca.
