

Georgia Redden, 80, passed away Saturday, January 6, 2017. Funeral Service will be 2:30pm, Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home 1217 Business Loop 70 West Columbia, MO with visitation from 1:30-2:30om. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Georgia was a life-long resident of Boone County, born on February 6, 1937 to George Williams and Ethel Warren. She married John Redden in August of 1971 at the family home in South Columbia. She worked for 24 years at Boone Hospital as a Nurses Aid. She was an active member of the Sugar Grove Missionary Baptist Church; serving on the Mother Board, and the Usher and Missions boards. She enjoyed gardening and cooking, working on puzzle books, playing dominos and she loved St. Louis Cardinal Baseball.
She is survived by her husband John Redden of the home; children, Margaret D. (Donald) Rostice of Columbia, Damon H. (Shannon) Redden of Poplar Bluff, Devear H. (Thieland) Redden of Columbia, Loretta A. (Joseph) Okoduwa of Waukee, IA, Desmond H. Redden of Peoria, IL, and Dean Mitchell (Carla English) of Columbia; siblings, Lula May Kemp, Lieutenant Williams, Johnny Williams, Edward Williams, Mildred Irena Wright, and Betty Anne Butler; seventeen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and four siblings; an infant sister, Ruth Powell, Mary lee Williams, and Jimmy Williams.
