

He was born on July 13, 1930, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Arthur R. Tveitnes and Bernice C. (Coburn) Tveitnes.
Gerald was united in marriage to Mary Ann Feldman on January 23, 1954. They shared 66 wonderful years together until her passing.
Gerald was proud of his service in the United States Air Force from December 1950 to December 1954, serving as a Staff Sergeant. He was stationed on Johnston Island during the Korean War. A hardworking and entrepreneurial man, Gerald owned two bowling alleys over the years and proudly bowled a perfect 300 game. He also spent many years in the plumbing industry, working both as a plumber and in wholesale plumbing. Gerald loved the St. Louis Cardinals and enjoyed dealing in collectibles.
He is survived by his sons, James (Marjorie) Tveitnes, Timothy (Katherine) Tveitnes, and Richard Tveitnes; his brother-in-law, Harry Lee Feldman; sisters-in-laws, Sue Feldman, Shirley Feldman, and Judy Feldman; eight grandchildren, Russell (Jennifer) Tveitnes, Andrew (Erica) Tveitnes, Brian (Jennifer) Tveitnes, Michael (KC) Tveitnes, Christian Tveitnes, Kayla Tveitnes, Erin (Travis) Snelling, Allison (Derek) Clifton; thirteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Gerald was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Ann; his parents; his daughter, Rebecca Ann Tveitnes; his sister, Dolores Jensen; and his brother, Howard Tveitnes.
Visitation will be held at Memorial Funeral Home on Monday, March 2, 2026, at 9:30 a.m., with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. A committal service will follow the funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
