

Ida May Anderson, 93, died on August 7,2025 in Green Bay, Wisconsin. She was born on March 30,1932 to Edwin and Gretta (Kohnert) Olson in Melrose, WI. After graduating from high school she moved to LaCrosse, WI to attend business college. While there, she met a handsome Army soldier from Camp McCoy who changed her plans. She married Richard (Andy) Anderson on August 11, 1951. After Andy graduated from Iowa State and left the Service, they moved their family to Oregon. Ida May became adept at packing up the family and moving across country as the Company transferred them to Arkansas, Oregon, Wisconsin, and Missouri. She loved cooking and quilting and her family. She also loved shoes and shopping. After retirement, she and Andy enjoyed a trip to Norway where they were able to meet up with cousins and visit the family homestead.
She is survived by her daughter, Lorna Anderson, son Loren (wife Patty) Anderson and daughter-in-law Carolyn Anderson; Grandchildren: Andrew (wife Lorna) Boren, Amber (husband Heath) Bourne, Michael Anderson, Amanda Anderson, Adam (wife Ingrid) Anderson, Alyssa (husband Matt Etling) Anderson. Great-Grandchildren: Daniel Boren, Ana Boren, Camila Anderson, Mikaelyn Anderson, Devin Franssen, Jordan Franssen, Makayla Dukes, Brionna Dukes, and 3 Great-Great Grandchildren. She is further survived by her brother Colman (wife Violet) Olson, sister Judy Jackson, and brother-in-law Victor (wife Margaret) Anderson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Anderson, and son, Lane Anderson.
Visitation will be 9-10am, Saturday, August 16 at Memorial Funeral Home 1217
Business Loop 70 West Columbia. Funeral service will begin at 10am with burial to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
