Imani Maria Ledoux passed away peacefully at home Sunday, October 12th in Columbia, Missouri at the age of twelve. Imani is survived by her mother Amber Guthrie, her father Richard Ledoux, brother Marquis Ledoux, grandfather William (Tree) Guthrie, grandmother Cheryl Guthrie, grandfather David Ledoux, grandmother Zena Ledoux, five aunts and uncles, many great aunts and uncles, numerous cousins, and of course her best friend, her beloved dog, Titan. Imani was born on September 14, 2002, in Saint Louis, Missouri to Amber Guthrie and Richard Ledoux. Imani had many joys in her life and brought joy to many lives. She loved to watch baseball, swing on her swing, take long walks, and of course, being with her loving family during holidays and birthdays. She was fondly known by many nicknames, but the two that were most prominent would be Manicakes and Manipoo. She adored her dog Titan with whom she had an unconditional love relationship. Finally, we all know that her absolute favorite movie was Happy Feet. We would also like to mention two specific caregivers, Julia Edgar and Marthaena Brown, who jointly cared for, loved, and educated Imani for six years. These women were second mothers to Imani. Imani’s funeral is scheduled for 12:00 PM, Saturday, October 18th, 2014 at Memorial Funeral Home, with visitation one hour prior. Kelly Ballenger will officiate at the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Imani’s life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Imani Maria Ledoux Memorial and sent to Boone County National Bank.
