J. Scott Coley

Scott was born in Boonville, MO on April 6, 1951 to Roselyn G. Peterson and Floyd E. Coley. His parents preceded him in death. He graduated from Laura Speed Elliott High School in Boonville and received his BA in psychology from Westminster College in Fulton, MO. While at Westminster, Scott was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity.

He owned JSC Design/Consulting, specializing in kitchen and bath design and renovation. Scott was an Eagle Scout and enjoyed volunteering for the Show-Me STATE GAMES and Art in the Park.

On October 17, 1992 Scott married Carolyn J. Milburn in Fairfax, VA, who survives in Columbia. Along with Carolyn, Scott is survived by his brother, Douglas K. Coley (Sallie) and nephews, P. Ross Coley (Hollie), Brian F. Coley (Kerri), and Stephen J. Parshall (Ashley); neice, Kate P. Cox (Isaac); brother-in-law, Ted Milburn (Stacy) and nephews, Donny E. Milburn and Ben M. Milburn; and many cousins. Scott was able to enjoy visits in June from his cousin, Melissa Zorilla from Denver, CO and Carolyn’s cousins, Elise and Greta Trautman in July at Camp Coley.

Visitation will be held Sunday, December 12, 2021 at 12:00 pm with a memorial service to follow at 1:00 pm, both at Memorial Funeral Home, 1217 Business Loop 70 W, Columbia, MO 65202.
