Family and friends mourn the passing of DVM Jack Vaughn whom God took home August 12th, 2018. Jack was born June 7th, 1934 in Helena, Missouri to Maynard and Hazel (Christy) Vaughn who preceded him in death.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home. Followed by Funeral Services at 2:00 p.m. with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.
He was a humble God loving man who loved deeply and lived life to the fullest. Jack was creative, passionate and a free spirit who loved life and where it took him. He loved his family, friends, and the work that he did as a Deacon of Wood Crest Primitive Baptist Church in Ashland, MO. He was dedicated to his work as a Veterinarian, and as a farmer. He touched so many lives.
Jack leaves a legacy of love and integrity with his family and those who knew him. He has left behind wonderful memories of a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. We are grateful for each and every day we got to see his glowing smile, and for the love he constantly shared. We will miss him more than words can ever express.
Jack began his career as the first of only two Veterinarians in private practice in Columbia after graduating from University Of Missouri College Of Veterinary Medicine in 1958.
He is survived by his beloved wife Betty of 21 years. Sons David Vaughn (Linda) of Greenwood MO, and Mark Vaughn of Columbia MO. Daughters Pamela Anderson (deceased) and Judy Vaughn of Colorado. Brother Bill (Earlene) Vaughn and Sister Mary Lou (Homer Stepanek) Step children Michael Crews (Debbie) Darrell Crews (Leslie) Jessica Lairmore (Derek) 14 Grand Children, and 6 plus one on the way Great Grand Children. Jack was preceded in death by Dorothy the mother of his children, his brothers Warren, Junior, Howard, Buford, and his parents Maynard and Hazel Vaughn.
