Visitation will take place from 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Little Bonne Femme Baptist Church with funeral services following at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the Little Bonne Femme Baptist Church Cemetery.
Jim was born in Boone County on June 5, 1941 the son of Noel T. Cunningham and Lucille (Henry) Cunningham. He attended Lakeview School then graduated from University High School, class of 1959. On June 14, 1975, Jim married Milamari Antoinella Olds Cunningham, M.D.
Jim first worked for Stephens College as a member of the equestrian staff. He retired as the Columbia shed foreman for the Missouri Department of Transportation. He raised Belgian draft horses for over 20 years and participated in many parades with his teams. He built roads and ponds with Russell Sapp.
His volunteer work included the Sunrise Optimists, the Missouri River Valley Steam Engine Association and the Memorial Day Salute to Veterans Airshow “Can Do Crew”. He served as a Boone County Fair Board member including the Ham Breakfast Committee for many years.
He loved Belgian draft horses, airplanes, trains, John Deere Tractors, running heavy equipment, visiting with family and neighbors as well as working in his woods on his Cunningham Three Creeks farm.
Jim was preceded in death by parents and his sisters, Mary Lou (Tom) Dundon, and Bonnie (Dave) Willett.
Memorial donations may be made to the Sunrise Optimist Club or Missouri River Valley Steam Engine Association.
