Born on February 28, 1956, in Flint, Michigan, to Wilmer and Irene (Nimity) King. She spent her early childhood in a small Kentucky town in Harlan County, Kentucky, before moving to Missouri during the fourth grade. She attended Centralia Schools, graduating from Centralia High School.
On March 19, 1983, Janet married, Paul Craigmile, in Columbia, Missouri. Their greatest blessing was the birth of their daughter, Hayley, who remained a constant source of pride and joy.
Janet devoted 44 years of loyal, dedicated service to State Farm Insurance before retiring in 2019. She was known not only for her remarkable work ethic but also for her kindness.
More than any title she ever held, Janet treasured being a wife, mother, and especially a grandmother. Her three grandchildren—Ramona, Ruby, and Archer—were the light of her life. She found her greatest happiness in the simple moments spent with her family, creating memories that will forever be cherished.
Those left to honor and cherish her memory include her beloved husband of 43 years, Paul Craigmile of Columbia; her daughter, Hayley Garnett and her husband, Cody, of Columbia; her treasured grandchildren, Ramona, Ruby, and Archer; along with extended family members and many lifelong friends.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Wilmer and Irene King, her brother, Lynn King, and her nephew, Chris King.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Janet's honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Services will be held at a later date.
