Jerry Thomas Teel, 52, of Columbia, Missouri passed away Sunday, September 28, 2014, in his home. He was born October 15, 1961, in Lakewood, California; the son of the late Mary Lou (Lewis) Teel and Joe Thomas Teel. Jerry was proud of being a professional athlete, skating roller derby with the L.A. T-Birds in California after graduating from Jordan High School. He was also a paramedic in California. He was a member of Olivet Christian Church and regularly attended Good Ole Boys at Midway with his dad. Jerry always said to remember to “Live well, Laugh often, and to Love much!” He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife, Tammy Teel; his “sons by choice”: Douglas Barnes of Columbia, and Peter (Rise) Barnes of Sullivan, Missouri; two sisters: Donna Sue Wright of Columbia, and her son, Gary Wright of California and Jayne Holman and her daughter, Crystal Holman of Houston, Texas. Visitation is from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, on Friday, October 3, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home in Columbia. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Moberly, Missouri.
