A visitation will be held Friday, January 29, 2016 from 12pm to 2pm with a service beginning at 2pm. Graveside service to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
John was born in Boone County on August 3, 1933. He was married to Shirley Dean Roberts on August 3, 1951 who is still living. He had career as an auto mechanic for local Chevy dealerships before starting his own business, Conoco Station and then later John Morton Garage on Business Loop. He retired as a mechanic at the Country Club. John had a passion for farming and mechanic’s.
John is preceded in death by his parents William and Georgia; brothers Cecil Harrison, Paul, and Winston Morton; sister Gladys Hazel; and infant son John William Jr.
He is survived by his son David (JoAnne) Morton of Callao, MO; daughters Sandra (Jim) Harrison and Nancy (Jeff) Pipes of Rocheport, MO; grandchildren Jody (Gary) Moss, Justin Belcher, Kyle (Annie Rose) Pipes, and Johnny Pipes; great granddaughters Jordan True and Jeannie Moss; brother Warren Morton of MS, and sister Margaret Hughes of VA.
