Katie graduated from Hickman High School in 2014, where she was active in band throughout. That same dedication carried her to the University of Missouri, where she earned a degree in Psychology in 2018—an education that reflected an attentiveness to others, and a heart inclined toward understanding.
As a teenager, Katie earned the Gold Award in Girl Scouts, a prestigious honor that spoke to the care and commitment she brought to the world even then. In May of 2019, she began working for Ameren, where she remained employed until her passing.
On September 18th, 2021, Katie and Zach were married in Columbia, Missouri. Over the course of their 10-year relationship, they shared many adventures together—moments shaped by the pull of distant horizons and the simple joy of being side by side. Katie was drawn to the mountain scapes of Alaska and loved to be near the water, places where the world feels both vast and peaceful, and where reflection comes naturally. In 2025, they welcomed their daughter, Madelyn Fay, into the world and into a home rich with affection; above all else, Katie loved being a mother.
Katie cherished time spent with her friends, family, and beloved animals. She found delight in putting together Lego sets, patient with each small piece until it became something whole. She was also gifted with a beautiful singing voice—one she tended to keep somewhat private. Through it all, she remained deeply cherished and beloved, the kind of presence that made life
feel warmer simply by being near.
Katie is survived her loving husband: Zach Andrews and their daughter Madelyn Fay Andrews of Jefferson City, MO; Mother: Janie Mills of Columbia, MO; Mother in law: Julie Andrews of Columbia, MO; Sister in law: Kayla Andrews of Columbia, MO; Brother in law: Anthony Christopher of Columbia, MO; beloved pets: Sadie, Pammi, and Finn; and numerous close friends and
aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews who care for her immensely.
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, James and Delores Daly, and her niece Rayanna Fay Worthington.
A visitation will be held at Memorial Funeral Home, 1217 Business Loop 70 W, Columbia, Missouri 65202, on September 26, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. A Funeral will follow at Memorial Funeral Home on September 26, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm.
