Marian is survived by four children: David Sapp and his wife, Jerri Lynn of Olathe, KS; Debbie Wills and her husband, Dave of Monterey, TN; Lynn Wheeler and her husband, Drew of Columbia, MO; and Karen Lindemann and her husband, Rick of Kingdom City, MO. She is also survived by several grandchildren: Matt Sapp (Kimbra) and Jenni Holmes (Justin) of Olathe; Annette Couch (Dave) of Fruit Cove, FL; Bob Bond of Columbia; Geoff Bond of Warner Robbins, GA; and Teague Wheeler (Mandy) of Panama City, FL; thirteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Roger Sapp; two brothers, Alvin Hassebrock and Edward Hassebrock; one sister, Leona Hendricks; and her parents, August and Ida Hassebrock.
Marian was born to August and Ida (Weseloh) Hassebrock on July 26, 1926 in Murphysboro, IL. She lived in Illinois until she married Roger, who was in the Air Force. Together they lived in many places including Laredo, TX, Japan, and Alexandria, LA. She moved with her family to Englewood, MO, and finally to Columbia, MO.
She was a member of Campus Lutheran Church where she attended regularly. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting, quilting, and gardening. Marian was a regular at the Columbia Senior Center where she spent many hours quilting. She also held office at the Englewood Club House raising scholarship funds.
The family will receive visitors at 10:30 am followed by a celebration of life at 11:30 am on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at Memorial Funeral Home, 1217 Business Loop 70 W, Columbia, MO 65202. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
