Marlene G. C. Elliott (nee Seegers), 83, of Columbia passed away Monday, Aug 23, 2021 at Neighborhoods at Tiger Place. Visitation will be held Friday, September 3, 2021 from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm followed by Funeral Services at 2:00 pm with burial at Memorial Funeral Home/Cemetery.
Marlene was born on November 1, 1937 in Berlin, Germany. She was a WWII survivor, and came to the United States in 1956 after marrying Pete Elliott and became a U.S. citizen. She received her Bachelor of Arts and Masters of Education from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She was a member of the Eastern Star-Boone Chapter and Wilkes Boulevard United Methodist Church. She was an artist, teacher and enjoyed gardening, fishing, and traveling.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete Elliott and grandson, Levi Dodge. She is survived by her daughter, Eva Williams and husband Daniel and daughter Susan Bryant and husband Dusty; grandchildren, Elliott Williams, Matthew Williams, Sandra Clermont, and Carolyn Durand; and great- grandchildren, Sahalie Durand, Alora Clermont, and Charolette Dodge.
Memorial contributions may be made to Kindred Hospice, Eastern Star-Boone Chapter or Wilkes Boulevard United Methodist Church.
