You know how in the moves when some one passed out and then another person would pore water on their head and they would wake up well in my eyes as a little kid I thought they died and splashing water on their face they will come back to life. When I was told by my dad that my grandpa Marven died I wasn't sad at first since I thout he came back after not seeing him for weeks I got the idea how should never see him again to this day I still cry over his absence even tho he left this world when I was only 6. 

My love and prayers to all the family,  friends, and my brothers. He was truly a man of honor and loved unconditionally of all around him.i wish I could be there for all of you today. I love you .

I will never forget the early October road trip Marvin and I took to South Dakota just shorty after he was released from military duty because of his injury in the Vietnam War. We departed from Northeast Missouri State University [Truman University] in his brand new red 1970 Chevrolet Impala convertible. It was 48 hours of no sleep and pure fun. Marvin and I share many memories dating back to our high school days in Brunswick, Mo.  I will always remember Marvin and his amazing flair for living life to its fullest.

I feel blessed to have known Marvin. Like many here have said, he was a great guy. He was stubborn at times loved to joke around, and always put his family before himself. I had the privilege of visiting with him just before he became ill and while short the conversation, I will cherish it always. May God give you his strength in this time of grieving, and know your dad was not only loved by family, but also by all the people he has touched over the years. Praying for you all.

We knew Marvin through his sister, Sharon.  We are "her friends from Kirksville", as Marvin referred to us.  He welcomed us into his home, always had an upbeat attitude, and I can say we were both proud to know him, even if it was just a little. We were fortunate to have been acquainted with most of Sharon's family before they were joined together in their forever home. He kept it real. Down to earth kind of guy. It was an honor to call him uncle.
He touched many, I am glad he touched my family's life.
