Mary Schmidt

Mary M. Schmidt, 85, of Columbia, passed away Sunday, January 15th. Services will be held at a later date. Mary was born July 14, 1937 in Perry County, KY to Nathan and Renda White Hamblin. On October 30, 1966, she married Martin Schmidt in Cincinnati, OH. She was a homemaker for her husband and their seven children.

She is survived by her husband of, 56 years, Martin Schmidt; children, Joan (David) Shutt of Lexington, OH, Sandy Spicer of Mansfield, OH, Ingrid (James) Wood of Columbia, MO, Martin (Dawn) Schmidt of Roger City, MI, Fritz (Tiffany) Schmidt of Ashland, OH and Kimberly (Jerry) Teel of Ashland, Oh; grandchildren, Eddie (Jessica) Spicer, Ashley Weller, Miranda (Aaron) Duda, Charlie Hutton, Echo Hutton, Cullen Wood, Ann Marie (Alec) Johnson, Sean Schmidt, Emily Teel, Maggie Teel, Dylan (Abbie) Schmidt, Brandon Schmidt, and Logan Garn; great-grandchildren, Olivia, Harmany, Ivory, Dallas, and Myla; sisters, Rose Collins & Pearl West of Scottsburg, IN; many nieces and nephews and a loving extended family. She was preceded in death by a son, Ed Spicer; brother, Nathan Hamblin; sister Ollie Strobl, and a granddaughter, Darla Spicer.
