Michael E. Lewis, age 60, of Warsaw, MO passed away on Monday, March 9, 2015 at the Harry S Truman VA Hospital in Columbia, MO. He was born on February 22, 1955, the son of Wilma (Tremble) and Carter C. Lewis.
Mike loved the outdoors, was an avid hunter and a fisherman. He was skilled at training world famous dog birds and he traveled all over the world. Mike graduated from Platte City, MO HS in 1993 and entered the US Air Force, having served from 1973-1993. He worked for Boeing in Wichita, KS from 1993-1998, in Army Depot Ft Campbell in Richmond, KY from 2001-2010 and retired in Warsaw, MO in 2013.
Survivors include his wife, Judy; daughter, Amanda Lewis Buchholz; grandchildren, Kathryn Drake and Kalvin Drake; step children, Edward Hebb, David McCoy, Linda White, Mary Box; step grandchildren, Michael Ross, Evan Hebb, Edward T. Hebb, Stephanie Box, AJ Box and Josh Ross. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Nancy Lewis.
Memorial Services will be held at 2:30 pm, Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Kirby-Morris Funeral Home, 224 W Ash, El Dorado, KS with graveside services to follow at Benton Cemetery in Benton, KS. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The American Diabetes Association.
