Mildred was born on November 2, 1929 to Reuben Woods and Ethel O’Neal Woods. She graduated from Hickman High School in 1947 and married Ralph N. Grissum, Jr. on March 6, 1948. Mildred and Ralph owned and operated The Copy Center on 10th Street for many years. Following Ralph’s death in 1982, Mildred became reacquainted with a school friend, Andrew Lee McGee, and was blessed to share thirty-one years of love and companionship with Andy.
Mildred is survived by her partner, Andy McGee; three children, Kay Hardy (Tim) of San Antonio, TX, Gayle Stratmann (David) of St. Louis, MO, and Gary Grissum (Kathy) of Fort Worth, TX; five grandchildren, Jack Maher, Jr., Morgan Mayne (Mike), Christopher Grissum (Carly), Jennifer Mason (Lee) and Julie Winkler (Garrett); four great grandchildren, Jack Maher III (Brooke), Kennan Maher, Olivia Maher and Corbin Grissum; and one great great granddaughter, Isla Maher.
Mildred was preceded in death by her husband: Ralph; one granddaughter: Kaitlyn Leigh Grissum; and her four siblings: Charles Woods, Dorothy Woods, Luther Woods and Donald Woods.
A private family burial service will be held at Memorial Funeral Home on April 9, 2020.
