Nola “Darlene” Engelbrecht, 92, of Columbia, MO, died Friday September 18, 2026, at Columbia Post Acute Nursing Home in Columbia. She was born September 16,1934, in Wilton, Missouri, to Mortie and Dorothy (Nichols) Taylor.
On August 28, 1960, Darlene married C. Kenneth Engelbrecht at Nashville Baptist Church in Pierpont, Missouri.
Before retirement, Darlene enjoyed serving students in the cafeterias of Blueridge Elementary, Oakland Jr. High and Campus Daycare.
Darlene and Kenneth enjoyed volunteering at The Prathersville Mission, weekly Bible studies and their word searches. She was a faithful member of Memorial Baptist, CenterPoint and Confluence churches in Columbia.
She is survived by her sister, Rachel, her children Tisha (Cary) and Lyle and her granddaughter, Victoria.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepmother Mary, her husband, Kenneth, and her siblings Ruth, Reed and Lonnie.
Words of comfort and support may be shared with the family at the visitation, which will be Thursday, September 24, 2026,
2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home. Services honoring and celebrating Darlene’s life will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Committal prayers and burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
