
Patrick O’Blennis, 78, of Columbia, MO passed away, Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at his home in Columbia. Friends and family may gather on Saturday, June 20th from 10-11am at Memorial Funeral Home, 1217 Business Loop 70 West Columbia, MO. A Memorial Service will follow.
Patrick was born, January 28, 1948, in East St. Louis, IL to Robert and Marjorie Brown O’Blennis. He was a 1966 graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas Preparatory Seminary in Hannibal. After graduation, he worked a long career as a chef. He learned by working for other chefs in different restaurants. He once owned his own restaurants in Centralia and Jefferson City. On June 7, 1975, he married, Marilyn Morrow at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Columbia. Outside of work, he loved to fish for crappies. He was an avid reader and enjoyed a leisurely car ride.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Marilyn O’Blennis of Columbia; sons, Patrick Jeremy O’Blennis of Columbia, Nathan O’Blennis of Overland Park, KS, and Gavin O’Blennis of Oklahoma City, OK; siblings, Robert (Jeannie) O’Blennis of St. Louis, Kathleen (William) O’Blennis-Dannevik of St. Louis, James O’Blennis of St. Louis, Mary Jo O’Blennis of Kissimmee, FL, and Mary Alice O’Blennis of San Diego; many nieces and nephews and a loving extended family. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Meredith O’Blennis; sisters, Mary Margaret O’Blennis and Mary Beth O’Blennis; a brother, Kevin O’Blennis; and his parents.
