Paul Dysart, 71, of Columbia, MO passed away Saturday, April 24, 2021 after a long battle with ALS. His graveside service was Friday, April 30th in Memorial Park Cemetery 1217 Business Loop 70 West Columbia, MO.

Paul was born December 18, 1949 in Columbia, MO to Jasper Robert and Lora Mae Betz Dysart. In 1968 he graduated from Hickman High School and was soon drafted into the US Army. He served 3 years stateside before he was honorably discharged. He went to work for the University of Missouri for a short while before beginning his career with Shelter Insurance. He worked 25 years with Shelter, retiring as a Computer Analyst. November 1, 2003 Paul and Valerie Miller were married in Las Vegas, Nevada. Away from work, he enjoyed fishing and spending time at Lake Ozark. He also loved his Corvettes, owning three over his life-time, but he loved his most recent 1976 model the most. Paul always looked forward to the Tuesday Happy Hour at Truman’s with his buddies. He was also a kind man with a jokester personality.

He is survived by his wife, Valerie Dysart; children; Chris Dysart along with his wife and children, Andrea Colgin and her husband and children; step-children, Katie (David) Ehlmann, T.J. Miller both of Columbia, and Kyle Miller of Olathe, KS; sisters, Donna Etherton and Nancy Haberstroh; and his grandson Tyson Ehlmann to whom he will always be known as PeePaw. He was preceded in death by his parents. Valerie, I'm just flabbergasted. OMG. Susan Powell just told me about Paul passing. I had no idea. Girl, I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm thinking about you too! Gosh, I'm lost for words. He will be dearly missed by you and your family. I'm hoping I get to see folks before I leave Shelter. I have 38 days left before retirement. So, so, ready. Rhonda Berry

Chris & Andrea; Sorry for your loss! I worked with your Dad at Computer Center University of Missouri! He came to my retirement party in July 2012! Paul was a friend and very like-able funny guy! May he Rest In Peace! Prayers to all of you!
