Richard was born, September 14, 1935 in St. Louis, the son of Richard Leo Gorden, Sr. and Anna (Wolfe) Gorden. On August 30, 1958 he was united in marriage to Virginia Nieters who preceded him in death in 2014.
Richard served his country in the National Guard Reserve.. He worked for UPS and EFD delivery companies before taking a job with the Columbia Public Schools system as a custodian at Gentry Middle School. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing. He also enjoyed watching westerns. He loved his family, but the greatest love of all was his wife of 56 years.
Richard is survived by his children: Gary (Karen) Gorden of Gretna, NE; Scott Gorden (Matthew Newton) of Conroe, TX; Brian (Holly) Gorden of Columbia; one brother: William (Peggy) Gorden of St. Louis; four grandchildren: Garrick, Bailey, Brandt and Avery. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one brother: Ronald Gorden and one sister: Joyce Gorden.
