Ronald Lee Hoffman, 70, a graduate of Hallsville High School Class of 1972, passed away at home on December 24, 2023 after a hard-fought battle with cancer. A simple visitation to celebrate Ronnie’s life will be held on Friday, December 29, 2023 at Memorial Funeral Home in Columbia, MO, 4:00-6:00 p.m.
Born to Ray and Betty Hoffman, Ronnie dedicated his life to family, work, and the hobbies he much enjoyed. As a skilled ironworker with Local 396, Ronnie took pride in the structures he helped create, and his colleagues remember him as a reliable and skilled professional.
Family was the cornerstone of Ronnie’s life, and he took great delight in the company of his grandchildren. Whether it was hunting, fishing, or telling jokes, his love for them was never doubted.
Ronnie found solace in the open road, riding his Harley with dear friends he considered family. He was also a skilled pool player, often engaging in friendly competitions with friends and family. Ronnie’s love for the outdoors was evident in his passion for fishing and hunting, activities that allowed him to create lasting memories with loved ones.
Ronnie is survived by his loving, ex-wife, Zelpha, daughter Misty (Lynn) Douglass, granddaughter Baylee (Wes) Wallace, grandson Fisher Young (father Jon Young), sister Brenda (Don) Dennis, brother Donald (Wanda) Hoffman, nephews Chris (Larinee) Dennis, Jon (Kristin) Dennis, Tony Hoffman, and niece Leslie (Froy) Aguilar. He was preceded in death by his daughter Amber Young and parents Ray and Betty Hoffman.
