Ruby Kimball, 85, of Columbia, MO went home to the Lord peacefully with family by her side Thursday, March 19, 2026, in Columbia. As per her wishes, she will be cremated and there will be no services.
Ruby was born February 27, 1941, in Baltimore, Maryland to Dalby and Margie Goswick Gayle. As a young child she spent some time in an orphanage, and her time there grew and strengthened her Catholic faith. She was a very giving person, always happy to make something or gift something to someone in need. She married Bob Kimball on June 23, 1973, in Columbia, and they would spend the next 53 years together. She enjoyed crafting beautiful wreaths and loved all things Christmas. She lived with a Sunny disposition and lived to serve people in need. She will be truly missed.
She is survived by her husband, Bob Kimball; her son, Joe Gormus of Columbia; grandchildren, Joey and Victoria Gormus of Virginia; a brother, William (Betsy) Gayle of Virginia; many dear friends and a loving extended family. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Mowbray, Margie Burch, and Shirley Williams; a brother, Johnny Gayle; stepfather, Joe Goswick; and her parents.
