She was born on August 5th, 1921 to James Audrey and Bessie Evelyn Sapp Martin.
She married Kenneth N. Scruggs on September 27, 1941 in Boone County. They were married for 62 years. Kenneth preceded her in death on July 14, 2004.
They lived most of their life in Boonville, Missouri where Kenneth was a conductor on the MKT railroad, and Ruby was a fancy stitcher at the Selwyn Shoe Company. She felt blessed at age 44 to become a mother of their only child, Sherri Lynn, and became a full-time homemaker.
Ruby moved to Columbia in 2006 to be closer to her daughter. They shared many memorable, happy times together.
Ruby enjoyed cooking and sewing, and was known to many as a talented seamstress. Her quick wit and great sense of humor will always be treasured by her loved ones.
She was a loving daughter, wife, mother and friend. Ruby, and the precious times spent with her, will be forever remembered in our hearts.
Ruby is survived by her beloved daughter and son-in-law, Sherri and Tony St. Romaine of Columbia, and niece Iris Price of Lone Tree, Colorado.
