

Steve R. Touchton, Sr. age 63, of Hallsville, MO (formerly of Moultrie, GA) passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2015 @ VA Hospital in Columbia, Mo. He was born on April 17, 1952 in Moultrie, GA, the son of Dartha (Tucker) and Leland Touchton. Steve married Melinda Robbins, his soulmate, on January 31, 1992 in Hermann, MO; she survives.
Steve was a Staff Sergeant in the US Army and was a POW for 97 days. He was in the 101st Airborne Ft. Campbell, Ky. Steve was a retired Construction Superintendent that had built 3 Waffle houses in Mississippi and 15 remodels in 6 states. He loved NASCAR as he attended 8 races, especially loved the #3 and #88. Steve had a fond admiration for antique collecting, gardening, fishing (avid fisherman & fished in tournaments) and watching wrestling on TV. His favorite wrestler was the Rock.
Beloved husband, father, Papa, uncle, brother-in-law, brother, & friend. He is survived by his loving #1 Fan & wife, Melinda , of Hallsville; his loving son, Steve (Kelsey) Touchton Jr, of Columbia; grandchildren, Scarlett Ellen and LilyAnn Marie; 2 God daughters Sarah & Kirsten; brother, Orbert Jackson Touchton, of Atlanta, GA; sister, Linda (Larry) Pettyjohn, of Moultrie, GA; sisters in law, Sharon Lee, Teresa (Jose) Robbins, Julie Robbins, Jennifer Robbins; brother in law, David (Debbie) Robbins III; mother in law, Paulette Robbins of Union, MO; father in law, David (Dixie) Robbins, Jr; children from previous marriage , Melissa, Amy and Craig, additional 6 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Also, his beloved & loyal pet Chelsey and 14 cats that he adored. He also had a Caregiver, Barb Ardnt, of Integrity Home Care.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, one sister, Peggy Andrew, one brother, Russell Touchton, his mother in law June Robbins, and two dogs, Taz and Koffee.
Steven was a strong-willed, hard working, loving man who loved his family and country, especially his 2 granddaughters. He was passionate about NASCAR and loved going antiquing & finding his next treasure. Words cannot express the measure of love & admiration he has left in our hearts.
A Celebration of Steve’s life will be held at 5:00 pm, Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 3:00-5:00 at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest at Missouri's Veteran's Cemetery in Jacksonville, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to Steve Touchton Memorial Fund.
