Born on October 6, 1979 to Levonya “Cricket” Pinkett, Tony attended Columbia Public Schools, where he met his soulmate Sabre´ and made many lifelong friends. He was employed with T-Mac Solid Waste Removal and was an active member of Columbia First Nazarene Church. Most of all, Tony was a loving husband to Sabre´ and a dedicated father to Jalen. He was a man of God and let his faith shine through his actions every day. Tony was a giver: you could find him at every stoplight reaching into his pocket to give whatever he had to those in need or help out anyone who needed it. He was a realist with the strength to have difficult conversations when necessary, especially as he faced the end of his life.
Many people knew “Tone Tone” as a comedian -- he found joy in making other people laugh and was blessed with the gift of making others feel at ease and lift their spirits. In addition, he loved to play basketball and was a huge Chiefs fan. He enjoyed playing video games on his PlayStation and buying tools to work on his car. He was a big foodie and would travel with Sabre´ explicitly to try new restaurants or to locate the best burger. If an adventure involved food, he was up for it. Tony was simply the kind of person you want on your side; he was truly everybody’s friend.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Sabre´ Pinkett; son, Jalen (Lilly) Pinkett; mother Levonya Pinkett; brothers Melvin Pinkett, Ballagio Lucce Pinkett, Mark (VerDonna) Pinkett, Jody Pinkett and Eddie Wright; sisters Wanda Wright and Sierra Collier; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
His grandparents Herbert Lee and Florence A. Pinkett and his mother-in-law Teresa Collier joyfully met him at the gates as he made his way to Heaven.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 20 from 11 AM to 1 PM at Columbia First Nazarene, followed immediately by a Celebration of Life. Final resting place will be Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family of Tony Pinkett.
