A proud veteran, man of great tolerance, loving father, and master of the dad joke, Wilbur was the kind of man whose kindness made a lasting impression and whose sense of humor could lift even the heaviest heart. Whether you needed help fixing your car, a tool only he seemed to have, or just someone to lend an ear, Wilbur was there with a warm smile and open hands.
He dedicated over 30 years of service to the University of Missouri, where he was respected not just for his hard work, but for his generosity, patience, and problem-solving mechanical skills. A true jack of all trades, Wilbur could fix just about anything—especially if it had an engine.
But no title meant more to him than husband and dad. He was a patient partner to his wife Kim, with unwavering commitment. Together, they navigated over 52 years of life, weathering both the ups and downs, building a journey filled with laughter, shared dreams, and a bond that stood the test of time. He was a guiding light to his children, who will forever carry with them his wisdom, wit, and unshakable support.
He is survived by his wife, their three children, five grandchildren and two siblings. In addition to his beloved family, Wilbur is survived by his faithful companion, Boggi, who was more than just a pet, she was a best friend, a constant source of comfort, a true member of the family. Along with a community of friends, former coworkers, and loved ones who will miss him more than words can say. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and three brothers.
In his honor, please tell a bad pun, help someone in need, and remember that the best things in life often come with grease on your hands and laughter in your heart.
