Belinda L. Vince of Columbia, Mississippi, passed away on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at the age of 76. She was born in Columbia to Joe and Elma Ball and was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church. Belinda enjoyed cooking and making floral arrangements, but loved dancing. She participated with a square-dance club in Columbia for many years. She was devoted to her family and always took an active role in the lives of her children and grandchildren. She especially enjoyed “taking care of” her grandson’s many school activities. Affectionately known to many as Coot, she was someone who could always be counted on to assist in church and community activities, and she would always go the extra mile for a good cause. Many say, “If you want to get something done right, call Belinda.” Belinda had a kind heart and will be remembered as role model, financial advisor, mentor, and friend to her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, and six brothers. Belinda is survived by her sweetheart, Gerald Price; two daughters, Melissa McInnis and husband Lester, and Teresa Merwin and husband, Paul; a sister, Carolyn Lambert; six grandchildren, David Stogner, Donovan Stogner, Devin Stogner, Paul Merwin, Jr., Bonnie Merwin, and Brandon Merwin; four great-grandchildren, Sophia, Matthew, Gemma and Karsen; cousins Charlotte Edwards, Bobby Sullivan, Travis Sullivan, Reggie Sullivan, Keith Sullivan and many more; and a host of other relatives and friends. There will be a visitation for Belinda at Colonial Funeral Home on Saturday, May 1, 2021 from 10:00am until 12:00pm. The funeral service, officiated by Reverend Millard Moak and Chris Turnage, will follow in the funeral home chapel at 12:00pm. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery assisted by pallbearers Donovan Stogner, Devin Stogner, Brandon Merwin, Paul Merwin, Jr., Paul Merwin, Sr., and Richie Stogner on behalf of David Stogner. Belinda and I graduated from high school together. She was always so sweet with a bit of mischievousness about her. A great sense of humor! I saw her last at our class reunion in 2018. She looked so pretty.
My prayers are with the family to feel the peace and comfort that only God can give.
We will miss her.
