Bessie Rea Magee, of Sandy Hook, passed away Thursday, December 27, 2018 at the age of 76. She was a lifelong resident of Sandy Hook and Carson Springs Baptist Church. Bessie Rea was a huge basketball fan, loved flowers and gardening, enjoyed traveling and spent countless hours making crochet items for her family. She was a loving mother, devoted to her family and worked from her home for over 50 years as a beautician. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Magee; a son, Ricky Magee; her parents, Walter and Loretta Sorrell and 10 Siblings. Bessie Rea is survived by a daughter, Karesa Pittman and her husband Kendall; a son, Tim Magee; three sisters, Dean Rushing and her husband, A.B., Jean Ball and Virginia Foxworth; seven grandchildren, Jamie Magee, Mike Magee, Chasity Hernandez, Kaylee Rockco, Tiara Culpepper, Chanley Pittman and Paige Magee and seven great-grandchildren, Taylor Magee, Kaiya Magee, Kosta Hernandez, Jathan Rockco, Tahlia Culpepper, Evan Rockco and Eli Rockco. There will be a visitation at Carson Springs Baptist Church on Saturday, December 29, 2018 from 10:00am until 2:30pm. The funeral service for Bessie Rea will begin at 2:30pm officiated by Brother Carl Dickens, Brother Jerry Terrell and Brother Archie Herrin. Burial will follow in the church cemetery and Bradley Rushing, Trent Rushing, Roger Ball, Jeron Dement, Blake Dement and Glen Vince will be serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will include Travis Culpepper, Kevin Holmes, Mike Magee, Jamie Magee, Kerry Dement and Jason Rockco.
