Betty Crawley, age 89 of Florence, MS entered into heaven on Wednesday, August 20, 2025. A former resident of Monticello, MS, she worked with various companies including Rutter-Rex in Columbia, MS. Ultimately in life, Betty chose home life and became a homemaker providing love and care to her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Betty was a woman of faith and attended Clear Branch Baptist Church in Florence. She loved to read books, lived happily, and enjoyed watching westerns on the weekends. Betty will surely be missed but we hold to the promise we will be reunited in Heaven someday.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Vester Crawley; son, Bill Crawley; parents, John C. May and Eva Jenkins May; sister, Janice Foster; brothers, Jack May, Johnny May, Redgie May, and Joe May.
She is survived by her daughter, Wyniece Walters (Daryl) of Bradenton, FL; sons, Allen Crawley (Sherry) of Brandon, MS, and Dace Crawley (Debbie) of Florence; a sister, Emma Dufrene (Able) of Lockport, LA; brothers, James May (Carol) of Columbia, and David May (Rose Ann) of Otoka, TN; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Family will receive guests for visitation on Saturday, August 23, 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Colonial Funeral Home in Columbia followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM. Reverend Raymond Jeffcoat will officiate and burial will follow at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery assisted by Bobby Mitchell, Aaron Crawley, Curtis Vaughn, Brent Bills, Preston Bills, and Gabe Ainsworth as pallbearers with honorary pallbearer, Andy Crawley.
