Billie Faye Simmons

Billie Faye Simmons, of Sumrall, Mississippi, passed from this life into God’s presence on Monday, July 21, 2025 at the age of 71. She grew up in Morgantown, Mississippi and has been a resident of Lamar County for the past 33 years. Billie loved Southern Gospel and Classic Country music. She was the rock of her family and loved family gatherings grilling and boiling crawfish. Billie will be remembered for the deep love that she had for her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bonnie and D.L. Blansett, Sr.; two sisters, Glendon Street and Hazel Bullock; and a brother, Dewey L. Blansett, Jr. Billie is survived by a daughter, Diane McCraw; three sons, Donald McKenzie (Heather), Obey Simmons, Jr., and Earl Simmons; a brother, Ronnie Blansett; twelve grandchildren, Dustin McCraw (Christina), Ashley McCraw (Mitchell Graham), Charles McCraw, Jr., Jessica McKenzie, Blake McKenzie, Savannah Simmons, Jagger Simmons (Haley), Tye Simmons, Cayden Simmons, Laken Simmons, Presley Simmons, and Reagan Simmons; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

The funeral service for Billie will be at Colonial Funeral Home on Monday, July 28, 2025, at 2:00pm. Friends may visit with the family from 1:00pm until service time. Burial will follow in the Blansett Family Cemetery assisted by Dustin McCraw, Cayden Simmons, Tyler Costa, Tye Simmons, Christopher McCraw, Blake McKenzie, Jagger Simmons, and Earl Simmons serving as pallbearers.
