Bonnie Gail Bean, lovingly known as “Bo Nana” to her precious family and friends, lived a life rooted in faith, family, hard work, and love. Surrounded by those who meant the most to her, she peacefully entered her heavenly home on Sunday, October 25, 2026. She leaves behind cherished memories and a love that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Bonnie was born on December 5, 1947, to Edna and Lawrence Bean. She grew up in the Foxworth community alongside her five siblings, where she was raised with a strong foundation of family, faith, and love. Growing up on her family’s farm, Bonnie learned at an early age the importance of hard work, determination, and perseverance. These values helped shape the woman she would become and remained a part of her throughout her life.
Bonnie attended West Marion School, where she enjoyed playing basketball, cheerleading, and being involved in school activities. During her school years, she was honored to be chosen as a homecoming maid.
The strong work ethic Bonnie developed as a young girl stayed with her throughout her life. She was a dedicated and hardworking woman who took pride in everything she did. Bonnie retired at the age of 75 from Southern Tire Mart, where she not only devoted many years of service but also formed lifelong friendships that she treasured.
Outside of work, Bonnie found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. She loved baking. She especially enjoyed spending time with her sisters, Linda and Barbara. Their weekend trips together were filled with laughter, treasured memories, and the special bond that only sisters share.
Following retirement, Bonnie was able to spend more time doing one of the things she loved most—working in her yard. She could often be found outdoors, tending to her flowers and plants and making beautiful things grow. Her yard was a reflection of the love and care that she poured into everything she touched.
Above all, Bonnie’s greatest joy was her family. She was a loving and devoted mother to her three children, Tammy, Troy, and Misti. She also held a special place in the hearts of her grandchildren, who affectionately knew her as their beloved “Bo Nana.”
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Edna Bean; her beloved son, Troy Slocum; her sister, Barbara Lowe; and her brother, Larry Bean. She is survived by her two daughters, Tammy Herrington (Alan) and Misti Stogner (Shelby); her sister, Linda Price; her brothers, Martin Bean (Judy) and Ronnie Bean (Jeannie); her grandchildren, Logan Barber (Rachel), Jaden Bettencourtt(Alex), Madysen Stogner, Haley Herrington, and Raelynn Herrington; and her great-grandchild, Storm.
Just as Bonnie lovingly tended to the flowers in her yard, she planted seeds of love in the hearts of her family. The beauty she brought into this world will continue to bloom through the lives of those she loved, and the memories of their precious Bo Nana will be treasured for generations to come.
