Bonnie Faye Brister
October 27, 1948 – June 14, 2019
Bonnie Faye Brister, age 70 of Columbia, joined her husband on Friday, June 14, 2019. She was born in Columbia where she remained a lifelong resident. Mrs. Brister enjoyed socializing with family and friends, eating in restaurants and watching hours of “Golden Girls” on TV. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Brister; her parents, Marvin and Lettie McDermit and a granddaughter, Kaitlyn Hughey. Mrs. Brister is survived by four daughters, Tabitha Hughey and husband, Allen, Samantha Anderson and husband, Carl, Lawanda Cupit and Doris Hodges and husband, Alan; a son, Danny Dixon and wife Christie; three sisters, Helen Patterson and husband, Leroy, Sylvia Martin and husband, James and Linda Whitehead and husband, Bobby; three brothers, John McDermit and wife, Mary Kay, Stanley McDermit and wife, Martha and Tony McDermit and wife, Kathy; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. The visitation will be at Colonial Funeral Home on Sunday, June 16, 2019 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. The funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Monday, June 17, 2019 in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

I was out of town when I found out that Ms.Bonnie had passed,
Seems like there’s only four people still resign on that little dead-end street we all use to play on. She’s with Mr. Johnny now and together now at peace.
