Brenda Faye Williamson Buckley

Brenda Faye Buckley, born May 3, 1957, passed away on August 19, 2026, surrounded by the love of the family she treasured so deeply at the age of 69. Brenda devoted much of her life to caring for others. She worked as a nurse at Marion General Hospital for over 30 years, a career she truly loved. Her coworkers were more than simply people she worked alongside; she cared deeply for them and treasured the friendships she made throughout her years there. Caring for people came naturally to Brenda, both in her work and in her everyday life. Brenda also loved to travel, particularly to the mountains of Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Of all the places she visited, Cades Cove held a special place in her heart and was her favorite place to return to. Above all else, Brenda loved her family. She found joy in cooking for the people she loved, taking care of others, and especially caring for her husband, Hubert. Their 51 years of marriage were a testament to a lifetime of love and devotion.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Estes and Nonnie Williamson, and her brothers, Carol Williamson and Leslie Williamson. She is survived by her husband of 51 years and the love of her life, Hubert Buckley; her children, Chris Williamson (Heather); Polan Buckley Jr. (Misty); Samantha Giles (Gilman); and Leslie Buckley (Katy). She was also blessed with 11 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren, each of whom held a very special place in her heart.

Brenda will be remembered for her caring heart, her love for her family, and the many years she spent looking after the people around her. Her life was one of service, love, and devotion, and she leaves behind a family who will carry her memory with them always.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 21, 2026, at Woodlawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Tyler Williamson, Drake Williamson, Bailey Giles, Gil Giles, Hunter Buckley, Gunner Buckley, Preston Williamson, and Cody Nace.
