Brenda Powell, age 80, of Foxworth Mississippi, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2026. She was born on December 10, 1945, at Walthall General Hospital and was the oldest of eleven children. Brenda married her high school sweetheart, Jerry Powell, and together they built a life centered on love, family, and community. Jerry preceded her in death on July 19, 2011, along with her youngest son Jerry Wayne on May 5, 2018. She is survived by her son, Christopher Powell, and his wife, Suzanne; granddaughter Shana Forbes, and her husband, Hunter; grandson Chaz Powell, and his wife, Lindsey; grandson Brandon Temple, and his wife, Courtney. Brenda was blessed with several great-grandchildren: Hagen Forbes, Gunner Forbes, Cooper Powell, Chloe Powell, Collins Powell, Wesson Temple, and Lainey Temple.
Brenda will be remembered for her deep love of family and her giving spirit. She found joy in planting flowers, baking, and visiting with people throughout her community. She was known for always showing up for others and offering support wherever it was needed. Brenda loved fiercely and wholeheartedly. Her strength, generosity, and unwavering devotion to those she loved will be remembered by all who knew her. Brenda’s life was a testament to love, resilience, and the importance of family. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
The funeral service, officiated by Reverend Steve Albritton, will be at Grace Chapel of Sandy Hook on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at 2:00pm. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00am until service time. Brenda will be laid to rest in Crossroads Church of God Cemetery assisted by Heath Speights, Lucas Stringer, Corey Stringer, Justin Bates, Elijah Stringer, and Daniel Stringer serving as pallbearers.
