Chaplain Carey E. Robertson, CDR, U.S. Navy, Retired, passed from this life into God’s presence on Friday, April 15, 2022 at the age of 88. He was born in Sicily Island, Louisiana to John and Lee Robertson. Chaplain Robertson began his service to his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. After release from active duty, he attended South Eastern Bible College in Lakeland, Florida for his undergraduate studies and received his Master’s in Theology from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Returning to military service, he served as a Chaplain in the U.S. Navy and retired with 24 years of total service. For more than 50 years, Chaplain Robertson served his Lord teaching and preaching as a pastor and evangelist.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, four brothers, and a son, Andrew Keith Robertson. Chaplain Robertson is survived by his wife of 67 years, Shirley Robertson; a son, Phil Robertson; six grandchildren, Jeremy Robertson (Liana), Joshua Robertson (Amy), Heather Eubanks, Lauren Ferrell (David), Alex Robertson (Felicia), and KerriAnn Sansom (Ryan); and 13 great-grandchildren.
There will be a visitation for Chaplain Robertson at the Resurrection Life Church in Picayune, Mississippi on Thursday, April 21, 2022 from 10:00am until 12:00pm. The funeral service will follow at 12:00pm and Chaplain Robertson will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery in Columbia, Mississippi at 3:30pm.
