Charlotte Jones McCain, of Sandy Hook, Mississippi, went to be with Jesus on Friday, October 24, 2025, at the age of 80. She was born in Tylertown, Mississippi as one of six children to Henry and Inez Jones. Charlotte went to nursing school in Birmingham, Alabama and loved her career of caring for people as a registered nurse. She worked many years at Jackson Hospital in Montgomery, Alabama and later worked all over the country as a traveling nurse. Charlotte returned to Marion County fifteen years ago and was a member of Turnage Chapel Congregational Methodist Church in Foxworth. Her favorite place in the world was the Smoky Mountains and loved spending time there whenever she had the opportunity to go. She loved Southern Gospel Music and traveled around the region singing in churches with her husband, Clinton. Charlotte had a deep faith in God and shared her faith with anyone who would listen. Known for her biscuits, she was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for family gatherings. Charlotte loved to laugh and have fun, and will be remembered for her kind, giving spirit.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Clifford Jones and Everett Jones; and her husband Clinton McCain. Charlotte is survived by a daughter, Dalina Kelley (Randall); a son, Donald Jackson (Melissa); two sisters Evelyn Langford (Carl) and Regina McDaniel (Jim); a brother, Bill Jones (Beverly); seven grandchildren, Amber Johnson (Adam), Mandi Jackson, Matthew McCain, James Boone, Brittany Boone, Abbiney McCain, and Paisley McCain; two great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
There will be a funeral service, officiated by Doctor Ronnie Morgan, at Turnage Chapel Congregational Methodist Church on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at 3:30pm. Friends may visit with the family from 1:30pm until the service time. Charlotte will be laid to rest in the Turnage Chapel Cemetery assisted by Brian McCall, Kenneth Jenkins, Adam Langford, Jacob Langford, Jaycee Langford, and Josh Currie serving as pallbearers. Jamie Boone and Chris Jones will serve as honorary pallbearers.
