Dell Patterson, age 84 of Columbia, MS passed away Monday, March 4, 2024 at Merit Health Wesley in Hattiesburg, MS. She was born in Hattiesburg, MS, enjoyed her career as a social worker at The Myrtles Nursing Center in Columbia, and was a member of First Baptist Church of Columbia.
Mrs. Patterson was preceded in death by her husband, BH Patterson; parents, Angel D. Godwin and Margaret Merritt Godwin; brothers, Dellwood “Sonny” Godwin, Jr., and W. “Shorty” Godwin; and a grandson, Patrick Davis. Her memory will live on through family who survive her which include her daughters, Anita Davis, and Amanda Patterson, both of Columbia; her son, Britt Patterson (Michelle) of Picayune, MS; a sister, Tommye Corley of Indiana; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Patterson will be laid to rest next to her husband in a private graveside ceremony at Woodlawn Cemetery in Columbia.
