I didn't know Donnie personally, but had the opportunity to talk to him many times through our hobby of "Ham Radio". He will be sadly missed.

Every time Donnie checked me in on the Central Gulf Coast Hurricane Net, I felt like I had just spoken to a friend.  I knew who Net Control was as soon as I heard his voice.
