Edna Williamson Morris, of Columbia, Mississippi, passed from this life into God’s presence on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at the age of 95. She was born in Mendenhall, Mississippi as one of eight children born to Henry and Louisa Williamson. Mrs. Morris has been a resident of the Improve Community for many years and served her Lord and her community through her membership with Improve Baptist Church. She enjoyed puzzles, loved flowers, and enjoyed working the flower gardens in her yard. Mrs. Morris was loving, kind, always encouraging, and had a way of making everyone feel welcome. She will be remembered for the deep love that she had for her Lord and her family, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by all of her siblings; a daughter, Cynthia Hill; and her beloved husband of 49 years, William “Bill” Morris, Jr. Mrs. Morris is survived by a daughter, Cathy Patton of Sugar Land, TX; a son-in-law, Howard Hill of Laurel, MS; three grandchildren, Chris (Jessica) Patton of Sugar Land, TX, Kevin (Abby) Patton of McKinney, TX, and Madison (Layne) Booth of Waynesboro, MS; great-grandchildren, Eli Patton, Bennett Patton, and Blaire Patton of McKinney, TX, Charlie Patton and Olivia Patton of Sugar Land, TX and a Baby Booth on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service, officiated by Reverend Darel Daniels, will be at Improve Baptist Church on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 11:00am. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 until service time. Music will be provided by Reuben McDowell. Mrs. Morris will be laid to rest in the Improve Baptist Church Cemetery assisted by Chris Patton, Kevin Patton, Layne Booth, Howard Hill, Joe Wise, and Stacy Williamson serving as pallbearers.
